FIRST-TIME-USER STUDENT INSTRUCTIONS

 

 

 

Dear Student:

In this class you will be using CourseCompass, a course-specific website built specifically for this course.  Your instructor may post announcements, the course syllabus, lecture notes, homework assignments, or exams. Once you register, you will have easy access to all your materials with just a few clicks!

 

Before You Begin:

To register for CourseCompass you will need:

þ      Your school’s zip code: 08901

þ      A “Course ID” provided by your instructor: lettersnumbers

þ      A CourseCompass student access code (packaged with your new text or available for purchase for $37.40**)  

þ      A valid email address

 

Student Registration:

1.      Enter http://www.coursecompass.com in your Web Browser.

2.      Under Students, click Register.

3.      If you have your access code and course ID, click Next.

4.      Select “No, I am a New User” and enter in your Access Code in the fields provided (type one “word” per box).

5.      Enter your School Zip Code, select your Country, and click Next.

6.      Enter your Course ID   lettersnumbers  and click Next.

7.      Enter your Name and Email and select Your School.

8.      Create your Login Name and Password, answer the Security Question, and click Next.

 

If successful, you will receive a Confirmation Screen with your information (this information will also be emailed to you).

LOG OUT.

 

System Requirements & Technical Support:

To use the resources on this website, you will need to check your browser settings and plug-ins. 

 

CourseCompass website assistance including “How do I?” tours, searchable Help, and online “Chat” is available at http://247.pearsoned.com. Toll-free phone support is available at 1-800-677-6337, Monday through Friday, from 8 AM to 8 PM EST (US and Canada), Sunday, from 5 PM - 12 AM.

 

TO REGISTER FOR THE QUIA POWERED STUDENT ACTIVITIES MANUAL

  1. Enter http://www.coursecompass.com in your Web Browser.
  2. Under Students, click “Log in.”
  3. Enter the Login Name and Password you created for coursecompass above and click “Log In.”
  4. You will see your Course listed under Courses You Are Taking. 
  5. Click on this Course link and you are ready to access your resources!

 

1. To the right on the next sreen, click on the Quia Registration button.

 

 

 

2. AT THE bottom  of the next screen you will see your alphanumeric Quia Student Book Key. Write down this number.

 

3. Click on the Quia Student Registration link to the right of the Student Book Key.

 

Note: Your Quia Student Book Key will be available on this screen at all times.

 

 

 

4.. Enter the alphanumeric Quia Book Key in the field labeled Enter book key.

 

 

 

5. Click Go.  Note that book keys may only be used once; your book key will become invalid after you use it.

 

Ø       If you are a NEW USER,

                  

click Create a new account. Fill out and submit the form. Verify that your name is displayed properly on the Quia Book Rights Page. The name that you enter here is what will be displayed to your instructor, so be sure to spell your first and last names correctly. Click Submit. You will now see the Quia book in your Student Workstation.

 

Important: Remember to write down your username and password. This will be the information you will use to log in to Quia each time.

   

HINT: In many cases the Quia username and password you create can be the same as your CourseCompass username and password.

 

Ø       If you are a REGISTERED USER,

       

log in using your current username and password. Click Log in. Certify that your name is displayed properly on the Quia Book Rights Page. Click Submit. You will now see the Quia book in your Student Workstation.

 

6. Enter the following Quia Course Code __ LETTERSNUMBERS __in the Enter Course Code field next to your book.

 

 

 

7. Click Go.

 

8. Select the class you wish to enroll in.

 

9. Click Submit. You are now able to access your Quia book and view your results from the Student Workstation. Your Quia account is now set up and ready to use. 

 

10.Log out.

 

TO ACCESS THE COURSE FROM NOW ON

 

To access your CourseCompass course,

 

1. Go to www.coursecompass.com. and click the Log In button for students.

 

2. On the Log In page that appears, type the CourseCompass username and password from your registration and click Log In.

 

To access the Student Activities Manual powered by Quia,

 

1. Click on the Log in to Quia button on the OneKey Homepage or select a chapter and click on Student Activities Manual.

 

2. In the Quick Log in box, enter your Quia username and password. You will be taken to the Student Workstation.

 

3. From the Student Workstation, you can click on the following:

 

Open Book. Allows you to view and complete the online Student Activities Manual

Book Details. Allows you to view information about the title you are using.

My results. Allows you to view your grades and instructor feedback.

 

BEFORE YOU BEGIN

 

Before you begin working with the OneKey 2.0 resources, confirm that you have installed all of the required plug-ins by clicking on the Browser Tune-up link on the OneKey Homepage.
