Course Description:

Through a consideration of research, the National Foreign Language Standards, the National Educational Technology Standards and hands-on experiences with technology, teachers will develop and design projects to be used in the world language class. This course will look at the effective use of the Internet (and critical evaluation of authentic cultural materials found on the Net) as a way to provide comprehensible input for students. In addition, this course will examine and learn to use various multi-media software available for the teaching of world languages.

Course Requirements:

  1. Attendance – It is expected that students will attend each class.
  2. Class Participation – Understanding of the assigned readings will be assessed through student’s active participation in class discussions. It is expected that students will be working on developing lessons during individual work time. (40%)
  3. Presentation of lessons based on use of technology and the Standards. (60%)
